About Calluses

Changing Corn Plane Blades
Hold Corn Plane Securely
Place the corn plane on a flat surface. Grip the upturned sides of the blade holder with the thumb and forefinger of your non-dominant hand. Using your dominant hand, securely grasp the corn plane handle.
Disengage Handle
Press down slightly on the handle and slide it forward toward the blade holder. This will disengage the handle and head from the blade and holder. Remove the handle and set aside.
Replace Blade
You will now work with the blade, resting on the blade holder. Grasp the upturned sides of the blade holder and turn it upside down so the blade drops off the holder onto your work surface. If you have only used the bottom edge, carefully flip the blade over to use the top edge. If you’ve used both edges, discard the blade and replace it with another from the pack.
Reassemble
While grasping the upturned edges of the blade holder with the thumb and forefinger of your non-dominant hand, use your dominant hand to position the corn plane head over the blade. The prong on the head should align with the slot in the holder. Gently push down on the handle and slide it away from the blade holder so that the prong is secure in the slot.
